From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While on a personal pleasure flight at about 11:15 am CDT the appropriately certificated and qualified pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft experienced a rough engine with a loss of power and fluctuating oil pressure. Rather than risk more damage to the engine the PIC elected to make an off airport landing in a soybean field. The right wing caught in the beans pullling the aircraft to the right and down, coming to rest upright in the fiel on its left landing gear and nose. The aircraft suffered substantial damage to the right wing and right landing gear and left shock strut assembly. The pilot exited the aircraft without injury.
