From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At 1645 on August 20, 2005, the pilot privacy data omitted attempted to take off in N90914, from joe duggar field, a private field near Freeport, Florida with one passenger. Shortly after takeoff from the grass strip (320 heading) witnesses said the aircraft appeared to lose power and made a shallow descending turn to the left as if returning to the field. As the aircraft approached the landing area, it was reported that the nose pitched down and the descent increased rapidly until the aircraft disappeared behind some trees. Impact with the ground resulted and the aircraft was destroyed and came to rest inverted opposite the direction of flight. Both occupants were fatally injured.
