From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The airplane was on final for runway 27. The landing gear was not down. The pilot was informed by radio the gear was still up and he attempted a go-around. The landing flaps contacted the runway and power was applied. The airplane nosed down with the introduction of power and the propeller struck the runway several times. The airplane assumed a climb attitude, crossed over trees at the end of the runway and commenced a left turn. At the approximate crosswind to downwind position the airplane nosed down and came to rest in a wooded area. A fire ensued consuming the cockpit and most of the passenger compartment.
