From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N77SA, Cessna 441 aircraft owned and operated by security aviation (lata), was on a part 91 flight from cordova to Anchorage, AK. The pilot, the director of operations for security aviation, and one passenger were the only souls aboard. N77SA picked up an IFR clearance approximately 50 miles from anc and flew a coupled ILS 7R approach. At touchdown, the pilot stated the landing gear collapsed. Investigation indicates that the landing gear may not have been extended. In either case, the aircraft slid down the runway on it's belly, and the right wing struck a runway light. The right engine caught fire, and the right wing received extensive fire damage. Both occupants evacuated the aircraft with no injuries. The pilot stated to emergency personnel on the scene that he operated the right engine fire extinguishing system, although investigation indicates otherwise. The pilot indicates that on advice of his attorney he will not be commenting on the accident, or providing a statement at the present time. This report will be updated upon receipt of additional information.
