From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 09/05/2005, at approximately 1130, flight crew of aircraft N242CJ, was attempting to taxi from maintenance ramp area. In doing so, aircraft lost all hydraulic power for steering and braking. Aircraft then began to veer to the left due to only the #2 engine running. At this point, aircraft continued on an uncontrolled left direction, crew tried unsuccessfully to gain control and abruptly shut down the #2 engine. N242CJ struck the left nose section of aircraft N339CJ, causing significant nose damage to both aircraft. Aircraft N339CJ was inspected and determined servicable by manufacturer for continued service limited to 500 flight hours, which permanent repair will be required. Aircraft N242CJ was taken out of service due to more significant damage. Nsva maintenance mechanics awaiting permanent repair drawings from manufacturer.
