From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that after takeoff at springdale, AR airport he heard a loud noise from the nose gear. Indicator showed nose gear up and unlocked. Flew out east 5 miles and did some trouble shooting. Recycled gear several times, nose gear still indicated up and unlocked. Verified nose gear up with mains down and locked thru use of mirror on outside of aircraft. Contacted springdale tower and notified them of the situation. Contacted maintenance department at Rogers airport. Tried to dislodge nose gear through various maneuvers, nothing helped. Headed for Rogers airport due to longer runway. Lowered gear, went thru checklist, pulled landing gear circuit breakers, when on final close to ground shut engines down and shut off fuel. Held nose up as long as possible. Aircraft came to a grinding halt.
