From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On September 18, 2005 at about 1040 central daylight time, the pilot privacy data omitted a private pilot landed at Kenosha airport, Kenosha WI with a glasair N9KK. After landing the nose gear collapsed. Investigation revealed that the pilot privacy data omitted was not sure if he had all green to indicate that the gear was down and locked. A retraction was accomplished. The mains went down and locked with green lights on. The nose green light went on then off, not a positive lock. The electrical switches required adjustment. This flight was operated under part 91. No flight plan was on file. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the incident.
