From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During interview with iic the pilot stated that prior to landing he extended the landing gear, heard the gear motor run then heard the landing gear lock down. When questioned about any unsafe gear indications the pilot stated that he'd had a past recurring problem with the gear indicator lights having to be "wiggled" to make them work. The pilot stated he'd had a mechanic look at the system but no problem was found. The pilot stated that he did not get a gear down light prior to landing. He did state however that the visual gear down indicator on the cockpit floor showed the landing gear to be down and he did not hear the gear warning horn prior to touchdown. Pilot stated that on touchdown all three landing gear collapsed. Pilot stated that he did hear the gear warning horn after the aircraft stopped. IA conducting post incident inspection of aircraft stated that he found the landing gear motor cb popped and when plane was jacked up and the cb pushed in, the gear extended normally. Aircraft received prop strike, minor belly damage, and damage to main gear. Note: pilot's medical was suspended in September of 2004 due to his failure to provide required documentation regarding motor vehicle dui conviction.
