From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that he began his taxi, at night, in a heavy rain and very poor visibility. He was cleared to taxi to runway 5R and thought he had taxied onto taxiway a. however, the pilot was actually on taxiway j, which had been notamed closed from J1 to J2. The pilot stated that he saw a lighted barrier ahead of him and planned to turn his aircraft prior to reaching that barrier. However the aircraft struck another barrier before reaching the one seen by the pilot. The pilot stated that the barrier struck was unlit, although it had lights on it. When the aircraft struck the barrier, the nose gear collapsed and both propellers hit the ground.
