From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot was conducting solo touch and go operations on runway 33 at Lawrence, KS (klwc). On third touch and go the student retracted the flaps after landing and applied takeoff power. The student reported the aircraft veered to the left. The student applied right rudder, but the aircraft continued to the left, departed the runway and hit a snow bank about 14 inches deep. After proceeding through the snow bank, the student then continued to taxi across a grassy field to the parallel taxiway. As the student performed his cross country taxi the aircraft nose wheel went into a ditch resulting in a prop strike and a broken nose gear fairing. As the aircraft continued back out of the ditch the tail section struck the ground and the rudder was damaged. The student continued to taxi the aircraft to the parking area. There were no injuries.
