From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot took off from runway 15 at meadowlake airport (00V) with two passengers on board. The intent of the flight was to remain in the traffic pattern for a touch and go. Pilot did a preflight and checked fuel for water, checked the magnetos at 1700 RPM, cycled the prop three times, found no defects. After rotation the RPM dropped to 1800 which was not enough power to climb. The aircraft did not climb higher 30 to 50 feet from the ground. The pilot landed the aircraft in a cow pasture at the end of the runway. The landing was uneventful and there was no damage sustained during landing. After landing, while taxiing back to the airport, he encountered a rut in the cow pasture at which time the nose gear dropped and the propeller struck the ground, causing damage to the propeller, stoppage of the engine and cracked the fairing on the nose gear.
