From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot privacy data omitted a student pilot was practicing soft field landings on his property when the accident occurred. The pilot privacy data omitted stated that he approached the field and made a base leg from the left. He descended over tall trees with 2 notches of flaps (30 degrees) and touched down near the crest of rolling terrain and bounced and the terrain sloped away. The pilot privacy data omitted attempted to go around and pulled up to climb over trees at the end of the field when the left wing dropped and the aircraft fell over to the left and landed in trees.
