From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot states that on 3 February, 2006, while flying in a Mooney, M20K, N4006H, upon landing into Panama City airport, after touchdown on the centerline, the pilot pulled power and braked slightly. As the pilot eased up on the brakes, the plane veered sharply to the left, then he attempted to control the airplane with the right rudder but was unable to prevent the airplane from veering to the left. Then the pilot applied brakes strongly since it appeared that he was headed off the runway. As the airplane left the runway, the airplane spun and dug into the soft soil and collapsed the right main gear. A witness stated that when he went to remove the airplane from the final resting place, it was evident by the skid marks on the runway, that the left main skid mark was longer than the right main skid mark. This shows that the left main braked first and heaviest, then when both brakes applied strongly, the movement of the airplane to the left was too FAR along to overcome. As of early visual reports the airplane had only minor damage.
