From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The mishap pilot was in the local traffic pattern preparing to land and upon extending the landing gear he failed to get a green light and had the gear warning horn sounding. He informed the tower of the problem, cycled the gear three times and was advised by the tower that the nose landing gear appeared to be cocked. At this point he departed the traffic pattern southbound where he attempted to further extend the gear by pitching abruptly upward with no effect. He then performed an emergency gear extension, returned to the local pattern and was advised the nose gear still appeared to be cocked but he had a green indication and no warning horn. After landing and during rollout the nose gear collapsed.
