From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that he departed from ssi enroute to pdk and leveled off at approx. 6000FT. After approx 5 minutes he noticed that engine rpm's had dropped to 2300RPM from 2450 and he was unable to adjust the RPM upward with the throttle. He then noticed that the edm engine analyzer indicated a problem with the #2 cylinder and shortly thereafter he noticed a violent vibration from the engine and the engine ceased. The pilot declared an emergency with jax center and attempted to divert to jes. Unable to make it to the jesup airport, he landed the aircraft in the trees near a residence in jesup. The aircraft was destroyed. The pilot received minor injuries and there were no others onboard. Pilot was treated and released from the Wayne county memorial hospital. Investigation of engine failure is ongoing at this time.
