From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During landing on runway 19 at khfy, aircraft struck two (2) runway lights after drifting off left side of runway. Pilot stated no ground contact was made until after lights and aircraft had been damaged. ASOS reported winds to be 240@14. Crosswind component of 10 knots. Demonstrated crosswind component of the aircraft is 15 knots. Pilot stated the airspeed was approximately 55 KIAS and the aircraft was configured as follows: engine was at idle; 10 degrees of flaps were down. Pilot stated that the plane was heavily crabbed to the right. Power was applied to thrust plane back over to the runway. Pilot had flown 4 hours in previous 90 days. Pilot's total flight time was 100 hours at the time of the incident. Pilot's two daughters were aboard the aircraft (weight). Pilot's statement: while landing at the destination airport, unreported gusting winds blew aircraft off the left hand runway edge during the landing flare. IAS was approximately 55 KTS. Engine was idle with 10DEGS of flaps given the reported stiff right quartering headwind. The left wheel strut assembly struck 2 consecutive runway lights approximately 1/4 down runway 19. Plane was heavily crabbed to the right resulting in impact damage to only the 2 runway lights, left wheel pant, and left wheel strut sleeve. No ground contact was made. Power was applied temporarily to thrust plane back over the runway where a normal landing was executed. Weather was clear and dry, ASOS reported 240@14KTS.
