From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While taxiing on romeo (r) taxiway, the nose wheel brake assembly collapsed and the nose fork dug into the pavement. With a gusty wind on his tail and when the nose fork struck the pavement, the wind picked up the ultralight and flipped it over, causing substantial damage to the aircraft, but the pilot was uninjured. He was given permission to enter the airspace and land at Anchorage by Anchorage tower, but in doing so, he flew over congested area of Anchorage. A violation of part 103 regulations. Note: #5 item on front. No NTSB case number as this is an ultralight without an (n) number.(-23 amendment) note: this is an ultralight aircraft and does not have an "n" number. NTSB does not investigate these, so there isn't any NTSB case number. Incident was failure of nose fork/brake assembly. Only brake for the aircraft is on the nose wheel. When it failed and broke, the nose fork stuck into the pavement and with the sudden change in the attitude of the aircraft with the wind on its tail, the wind flipped the aircraft over. No fault of the pilot.

As the FAA filed it
