From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot stated: "attempted a soft field takeoff, front wheel came up as engine reached max RPM and nose of plane went left and I tried to correct with right rudder but plane did not respond as I expected. I tried additional right rudder and right aileron but felt I would leave runway before nose came back. So I relieved back pressure on yoke and attempted to regain control. Left wheel left runway as I reduced throttle to idle and plane started a skid to the left. I mistakenly cycled power two more times during the skid thinking I had pulled the wrong lever. I continued to skid slowly, rotating left when I exited the grass onto the taxiway. I regained directional control as I impacted a parked plane (N7516T) and brought the plane to a complete stop and shut it down."

As the FAA filed it
