From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot reported taht his wife and he got in the aircraft to fly somewhere and he primed the engine and hit the start switch and nothing, acting like a dead battery. He got out of the aircraft, and drove his pickup truck near the aircraft. He connected battery jumper cables from the truck battery to the aircraft battery. He left it this way, guessing 5-10 minutes. There was a conversation about his wife having her feet on the brakes. He then told her to hit the start switch. The aircraft engine started, the aircraft started moving and moved about 5 feet with the propeller going into the right side door of the pickup truck and the engine quit. The damage on the aircraft was limited to a bent propeller.
