From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot received his weather report via the internet the evening before the scheduled flight. Tower informed him prior to departure the winds were calm and aircraft N369AS was cleared for takeoff on runway 27. Approximately 600 feet down the runway the aircraft departed the runway to the left and after sliding approximately 50 feet came to a stop, upright, off the runway and in the grass. Damage to the aircraft was to the lower and upper wings, left main landing gear collapsed inboard and it was apparent that the propeller had struck the ground. No injuries to either the pilot or passenger.
