From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 2, 2006, N70AF, an Ayres model S2R turbine airplane, serial number 2547R, departed the dan e richards municipal airport at paducah, Texas and lost rudder control. At approximately 1320 CDT, the pilot landed the aircraft at the Childress Municipal Airport at Childress, Texas on runway 35. The aircraft touched down slightly to the right of center and drifted off the runway some 700 feet later. At approximately 1150 feet of ground roll, the left wing struck the front of a tractor which spun the aircraft to the left and it came to a stop at another 50 feet on a heading of 270 degrees. There were no injuries to the pilot, which was the sole occupant. The left wing outer two feet was badly damaged including the wing main spar. The rudder control horn was found to be separated from the rudder due to excessive corrosion at the weld connecting the attachment plate to the rudder forward spar tube.
