From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 04, 2006 the pilot privacy data omitted was conducting operations under 14 CFR part 137 when his aircraft contacted a detroit edison power line near Pigeon Michigan. The pilot privacy data omitted stated that he was initiating a spray run near a power substation and concentrated his attention on the main lines feeding that station and did not notice any other lines in the area. While leveling his aircraft for the spray run, an additional unseen wire struck the aircraft's windshield severing the power line and damaging the wire defector aft of the cockpit. The pilot privacy data omitted proceeded to the bad axe airport (bax) to inspect the aircraft. Spray operations were continued after repairing the wire deflector. Contributing factor being the pilot's failure to notice subject wire due to attention diverted to the substation wires.
