From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot (a student pilot with solo endorsement) set up for landing at Sanford-lee county airport (tta). On final approach for the airport the pilot stated that he felt the aircraft was high and slow. This resulted in a hard landing which caused the aircraft to "bounce." The aircraft drifted to the left from the centerline of the runway. The aircraft touched down again and bounced, still moving to the left. The pilot applied power in an attempt to go-around. The aircraft continued to settle, it contacted the ground on the left side of the runway where it slid to a stop. The pilot egressed the aircraft with no injuries. The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft. The aircraft was located FAR enough from the left side of the runway so it did not pose a threat to any take-off or landing traffic. privacy data omitted

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^
