From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Experimental amateur built taylor royal t, N2554, was destroyed after colliding with terrain 3/4 mile west of seven bay's airport, Washington. The pilot, who was the registered owner/operator of the airplane, and the two passengers were fatally injured. Witnesses reported that the airplane was traveling west before it turned south towards seven bay's airport. One witness stated that after turning south, the airplane pitched "straight up" and then straight down before impacting the terrain. A second witness reported that the airplane was in a steep bank "knife edge position" just before he heard what appeared to be full power application for 5-6 seconds. Shortly after the power application the aircraft impacted the ground. The crash pattern is indicative of a stall/spin incident. The debris field remained contained within a very small area, and all the aircraft components forcibly compressed.
