From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was practicing soft field take off and landings on Mansfield airport's grass runway 22. The first take off and landing was uneventful. The second take off and approach to landing was uneventful. The aircraft bounced on the second landing. The second bounce was hard. The pilot felt he may have damaged the aircraft so he elected not to perform a go around. The third time the aircraft contacted the ground it hit very hard. The propeller contacted the runway and the right main landing gear was repositioned. The pilot was only person on board and sustained no injuries. Preliminary investigation revealed damage to the propeller and to the right main landing gear attach structure. Aircraft is scheduled to be transported to the liberty factory for evaluation and repairs.
