From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot privacy data omitted stated that prior to deciding to land at the davidson county Lexington airport (exx), he had noticed that the engine oil temperature indicator was reading full scale high. He was not overly concerned however looking back admits that this did pose as a distraction. He said that on approach to runway 24, he verified that the landing gear was down and indicated 3 green. Additionally he recalls that he and his daughter recognized the sound of rushing air as is evidenced when the landing gear is extended. Just prior to touchdown the warning horn sounded and then the landing gear collapsed. The aircraft slid on the centerline of runway 24 approximately 600 feet before coming to rest. During inspection of the aircraft, there was no evidence to support that the landing gear collapsed. The main landing gear doors, tires, and brake calipers showed no signs of damage that would be consistent with a collapsed landing gear. The propeller, nose gear doors, belly skin, exhaust pipes, and inboard trailing edge flaps were damaged as a result of impact and sliding.
