From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On August 2, 2006 at approximately 1815 CDT, the pilot was making a test flight after engine maintenance had been performed to seat the rings and stabilize the oil temperature. While on approach to the Elmdale Airport the pilot encountered some severe turbulence. The pilot, being concerned about the oil temperature on the engine, did not follow the before landing checklist and forgot to lower the gear, causing a gear up landing. There is minimal damage to the aircraft, only damage to the propeller. There were no injuries to the sole occupant.
