From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the climb out at about 250 ft AGL the pilots heard a bang and the engine completely lost power. They glided to a stop in a bean field. There were no injuries. There was no damage to the airframe. A bracket on the engine broke off. This caused the chain of events to cause the engine to fail. Our investigation revealed that a bracket broke off the engine, which hit the propeller and caused the tip of the propeller to break off. Then due to the vibration, it caused the engine to fail.
