From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 8/23/2006 at approximately 0652 local time the pilot and a company employee planned on departing Brookings, SD (bkx) to go to sioux falls, SD to pick up a passenger. This proposed flight was under CFR part 91. They taxied out with plans to use runway 12. As they taxied near the terminal area, the aircraft knocked down the safety cones and hit two lighted marker/barriers where some taxiway construction was being conducted. Both propellers were damaged. Debris from the props caused some damage to the right nose baggage door and below the baggage door. There was also a small hole punctured near the heater area on the right side of the nose. The right prop was damaged on three blades and the left prop had damage to two blades. The left cowl had minor damage and there was a small hole punctured on top of the left main fuel tank by the fuel cap area. No one was injured and the aircraft was towed back to the fixed base operator a short time later. The pilot was interviewed and he stated the windshield was fogged up and he did not see the barrier. He also stated he knew there was a NOTAM for the construction and taxiway closure.
