From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On September 1, 2006, a Piper comanche, N5666P, landed gear up at the finger lakes regional airport (0G7). The aircraft was being flown for a familiarization flight and the pilots had spent the previous hour doing airwork which caused a warning horn to sound during a maneuver, thus "conditioning" them to ignore the horn. Engine out practice landing resulted in a gear up landing. There were no injuries and only minor damage to the aircraft. This incident is considered closed.
