From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot was picking up 4 heli-bags on a lanyard. One of the lanyards was about 6 feet longer than the others and the equipment dangled about an additional 6 feet lower. The pilot was unable to see the power line. The longest lanyard struck the power line. The heli-bags were entangled with the power line and a power line pole broke at its base. The pilot released the long line and the helicopter did not sustain any damage. This report is closed.
