From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 9-22-2006, the pilot privacy data omitted departed north platte, NE, IFR to la crosse, WI. The aircraft (Beech BE-55 N4JV) was in cruise flight at 9000' MSL with a ground speed of 190. He was in radio and radar contact with Sioux city approach control. He missed two ATC calls, then radar tracking indicated that his aircraft slowed considerably, then began a rapid descent. The aircraft impacted the ground in an upright position pointing nne. The pilot was partially ejected through the right windshield and was fatally injured. All aircraft components were in a very small area, indicating that forward speed was negligible and the aircraft was probably in a flat spin. Autopsy results indicated nothing abnormal. Both engines were inspected and had ignition and rotated freely. R fuel was on main, l was on aux. First responders noticed fuel on ground.
