From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft had departed spi and was climbing to 5500 when a vibration was noticed followed shortly thereafter by oil on the windscreen and loss of power. At the time of the failure the aircraft altitude was 5000 and the wather was clear. The pilot was in communication with ATC and declared an emergency. The altitude at the time power was lost allowed the pilot considerable time to prepare for an off airport landing which was successfully completed in an unharvested soybean field without damage to the aircraft or injury to the two occupants. This incident is closed with this report.
