From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On November 01, 2006, a flight of 2 ultralights departed animas NM on a pleasure flight to bisbee AZ. Upon arrival at bisbee, it was discovered that one aircraft was missing. The other aircraft turned around and retraced its route in order to look for the missing aircraft. The pilot of the aircraft returned to an area where smoke had been spotted and discovered what he thought was the wreckage of the other aircraft. The matter was turned over to the cochise county search and rescue coordinator. The wreckage was recovered in "skeleton" canyon, along with 2 bodies.
