From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft departed Port Columbus enroute to windsor locks CT (bdl). At approximately 500 ft flight attendant/passenger smelled/saw smoke in cabin immediately notifying captain who declared emergency and returned to airport landing on 28R without incident. Crew (3) and px (15) deplaned through main cabin entry door only without injuries. Approximate time taken during evacuation was 2 minutes without panic. Aircraft was turned over to maintenance personnel for troubleshooting who found that the #2 engine was producing fumes/vapors possibly from defective carbon seals. Corrective action is to change out and return to oem for repair.
