From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On November 11, 2006, at approximately 0930 central standard time, a Cessna 150J lost engine power while on final approach to runway 27 at Defuniak Springs, Florida. The pilot and passenger on board received no injuries. The pilot stated that he took off on runway 27 with the intention of practicing touch and go landings. On the left down wind for runway 27, the airplane back fired 2 or 3 times quickly and he pulled the power control out to slow the aircraft down. As the aircraft came around on final approach he pushed the carburetor heat in and did a full power low pass over the runway successfully. On the second approach the engine started coughing, sputtering and ceased operating. The pilot tried to glide to the runway, but ended up landing between a taxiway and the runway. During the landing rollout the nosewheel dug into the soft dirt and sand as the airplane crossed the taxiway and flipped over. The airplane incurred substantial damage.
