From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The flight originated in henderson, Nevada and was returning home to Montgomery airport, San Diego, ac. Occupants included the pilot, privacy data omitted his wife and a dog. The arrival at Montgomery airport was just after sundown, with a marine layer obscuring the airport environment. The approach was in VFR conditions and included a straight in approach to 28R. Traffic was pointed out by the tower and was a helicopter on a parallel approach for 28L. The pilot privacy data omitted became preoccupied with trying to view the traffic and failed to properly complete his "gump" checklist. He admits that he forgot to select the landing gear lever to the down position. The resultant gear up landing sustained damage to the prop tips and the underside of the aircraft. The airplane skidded to a stop in a wings level and upright attitude on the centerline of the runway. No injuries were reported.
