From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) As the aircraft was nearing cruise altitude, a brief smoke smell and odd sound was noticed by the flight crew. As the SIC was checking circuit breakers in the galley, the PIC encountered a full scale N1 vibration indication for the #1 engine. The PIC requested and received descent clearance to permit thrust reduction. During descent, the crew received an engine computer caution followed by erratic N1 indications for the #1 engine. The crew shut down and secured the engine per the checklist, declared an emergency, and diverted to kpit. The ARFF responded as the aircaft landed safely and taxied to atlantic aviation without further incident. After deplaning, the crew noticed 4 turbine blades missing approximately 3/4 inch on the #1 engine.
