From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated upon departure from norwood airport aircraft may have struck a bird in the nose gear area. Heard unusual noise on take off. Arrived at Danielson Airport, extended gear for landing and did not get green light for nose only. Cycled gear several times but no help. Changed bulbs for landing gear indicators, no help. Used emergency gear blow down still no green light. Set up aircraft for landing approach, feathered both props and landed aircraft on runway 31. Main gear stayed down and landed on the nose gear door area and came to a full stop. Bird strike may have caused failure of the nose gear door and cycled hardware.
