From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The following is a statement regarding the incident which was provided to this inspector by the pilot privacy data omitted on 01/22/2007. There is a duster strip near my home that both my girlfriend and I had permission to use. My girlfriend landed ahead of me. We were landing east to west and there was a little crosswind from the north. I was going to make a soft field landing because of the dirt. The strip is very wide and I was landing north of the plane in front of me to avoid dust. I was carefully scanning the road for traffic to be sure I could land short. All of a sudden there were power lines in front of me. Since I was preparing to land I was sure I couldn't get over the lines so I went under. My spinner caught the ground wire and snapped it. There was no interruption in my engine performance. I landed the plane and discovered the spinner dome was bent. We reported the broken wire. I called my husband who suggested I remove the spinner dome and fly the plane home. Flight in my plane without spinner is permissable. So I removed the spinner as my husband suggested and flew the aircraft successfully home. The prop was removed and inspected by a local A&P mechanic.
