What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) A velocity serg, owned, built and operated by the pilot privacy data omitted and based at Ramona Airport was set up for a normal landing on runway 27 and cleared to land by the control tower. The pilot stated that he forgot to lower his landing gear. The tower noticed that the landing gear was not down and called for a go around as the aircraft was approaching the landing flare. The pilot said he hesitated too long to add power and his aircraft contacted the runway and slid to a stop remaining upright. The pilot was the only occupant and sustained no injuries. There was no airport property damage. The damage to the aircraft included the belly of the fuselage and bent prop blades.
