From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On February 18, 2007, northwest airlines flight 1273 was cleared for a full procedure ILS rwy 12 at Bozeman, Montana (bzn) after holding at manni intersection on the approach course. The flight proceeded outbound for approximately 35 nautical miles, which is 25 nautical miles beyond the 10 NM ring. This put the flight into an area where they were surrounded by mountainous terrain and were below the minimum safe altitude in that sector, 8800 feet MSL. The flight continued to operate at an altitude of 7300 ft MSL while proceeding outbound until the low altitude alert was initiated by salt lake center. Climbing instructions were issued and the flight was returned to the inbound ILS course. The flight landed without further incident.
