From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Nw 1270 became deeply embedded in the snow and ice while taxiing at dca. The crew was attempting to taxi to the gate via a closed taxiway (p). Ground control intervened and directed them back toward the open taxiway (k). During the turn reversal, however, the aircraft became stuck in ice and snow. The affected area, taxiway p, was closed by the metropolitan Washington airport authority (mwaa) and the information disseminated to northwest airlines via a field condition report. This report was made available to the crew prior to their flight within the dispatch release. A tug was able to free the aircraft and it taxied to the gate without further incident. There were no injuries and no damage to the aircraft.
