From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On February 26, 2007, at approximately 1500 MST, N600WW, an experimental amateur built sonex yx airplane, with the pilot privacy data omitted performing as pilot-in-command, crashed while attempting to land on runway 25 right at Phoenix Deer valley airport (dvt). The pilot privacy data omitted reported that he was attempting to land on runway 25 right and that during the landing flare, noticed the runway centerline was FAR off to his right. As he was attempting to correct back to the centerline of the runway, the aircraft drifted off the left side of the runway and struck a runway sign with the left wing. The aircraft came to rest upright off to the left side of the runway in the dirt. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the left wing which requires replacement of the leading edge sheet metal and approximately five internal ribs. The lone occupant was not injured.
