From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot privacy data omitted stated that he was attempting to land on runway 8L at ksdm, San Diego, CA. During the landing, he bounced and became airborne. He added a small amount of power and let the airplane settle. He stated that the airplane bounced again and was near the right edge of the runway. He then added full power. He stated that "the propeller hit the runway, probably due to my pushing the stick too FAR forward." The nose of the aircraft then went up, then pitched down (witnesses stated that the aircraft cartwheeled) and the aircraft ended up inverted. The pilot sustained minor scrapes and bruises. The passenger sustained a cut on his forehead and was transported to the hospital.
