From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot was landing to the south, a crosswind existed and the aircraft began to drift. The pilot applied power to initiate a go around and struck a tree branch 20-30 feet in the air. The aircraft impacted the ground into the tree branches that cushioned the impact. The aircraft came to rest 180 degrees from the flight path facing north in a close to a vertical position. The pilot was the sole occupant and no injury occurred. The grass strip was well maintained, 2500' long and 50-75 wide.
