From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On March 18, 2007, approximately 2015 central daylight time, a longeze, N97EZ, sustained minor damage when it was landed in a field. The commercial pilot, the sole occupant, was not injured. The pilot was on a VFR flight from lockhart, TX, to mcallen, TX, when the oil pressure began to drop. The pilot decided to land at Alice, TX. During the descent, the engine began to run rough and the pilot elected to shut it down. Seeing that he would not make the airport, he retracted the nose gear and landed the airplane in a field. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and a flight plan was filed for the 14 CFR part 91 flight.
