From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) March 26, 2007 lr JET-36A, N527PA was operated by phoenix air group as flight 327. At approximately 0725 EDT N527PA departed Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport/phf on runway 20. On the takeoff roll the left main landing gear tires blew. The pilots decided to abort the takeoff. The aircraft was difficult to control and continued swerving left then right down the runway. The drag chute was deployed shortly after the abort decision was made. The drag chute failed. The Lear jet continued drifting right and departed the runway hard surface into the grassy area. At this point the left main landing gear separated from the airplane. The Lear jet reentered the runway from the grass in a right skid and it continued skidding off the departure end approximately 20 feet. The left aft wing spar was cracked and buckled.
