From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On April 1, 2007 the pilot privacy data omitted departed a grass strip with a passenger. Their intention was to fly to the coast and look at sharks. They did right hand turns for awhile over the water. At approximately 1500 hours local it appears that the aircraft ran out of fuel from the pick-up and the engine stalled. The pilot privacy data omitted tried to restart the engine but only started for a couple seconds and then stalled again. Even though there was fuel in the right wing it did not get to the pickup in time to maintain fuel in the line. The aircraft does not have fuel pumps in the wing, the fuel was gravity feed there was no fuel in the scupper tube upon investigation. The investigation of the loss of power and accident was determined to be from fuel depletion. On may 2, 2007 a 709 letter was sent to the pilot privacy data omitted. Due to his injuries he is unable to perform the 709 ride at this time.
