From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft landed on runway 18 at Ocala international airport at 6:30 pm local time. Aircraft landed on main wheels first then tail wheel shortly after, when aircraft veered to the right then leaned suddenly to left. Aircraft continued to lean left until left wing contacted runway surface. Pilot and passenger exited aircraft without injury. Substantial damage to aircraft occurred due to failure of left main wheel and failure of left main landing gear strut. Aircraft was removed from runway environment and brought to hangar on airfield prior to NTSB, or FAA arrival on scene. Post accident investigation revealed that left main wheel fractured from axle bolt and left main gear folded under airframe. Fuselage suffered buckling damage, left wingtip was damaged, and fuel was leaking from left fuel tank.
